Cylindrical roller bearings, single row: DIN 5412, part 1
Cylindrical roller bearings, double row: DIN 5412, part 4

Tolerances, bearing clearance
Bearing clearance is distinguished between radial and axial. Design versions like NUP or NJ + HJ need also attention in axial next to radial clearance. Tolerances are in accordance with ISO 492 and clearance is in accordance with ISO 5753.

Cages
All the cylindrical roller bearings of the series NU10, NU18, NU19, NU2, NU20, NU22, NU23, NU28 NU29, NU3, NU30, NU31, NU4, NU60, NN30.., NN48, NNU48, NNU49 and NNU60 are preferably delivered with machined brass cage.

The following machined cages are available:

  • Chamber-type cages, letter code M
  • Window-type cages, letter code MP
  • Comb-type cup cages, hot-riveted steel rivets, letter code M2
  • Comb-type cup cages, spider riveted, letter code M3
  • Comb-type cup cages, bolted, letter code M4 (available only for bore diameter 64 and higher)


The following types of machined cage guidance are offered for cylindrical roller bearings:

  • Roller guidance, no extra letter code
  • Outer roller guidance, additional letter code A
  • Inner roller guidance, additional letter code B


Angular adjustment
The modified line contact between rollers and races of cylindrical roller bearings avoids edge tension, and allows a slight adjustment of the contact angle. The adjusted contact angle shall not exceed four minutes with a load ratio

The bearing versions NU or NNU are used as examples of technical specifications such as load ratings and speed limits.

Cylindrical roller bearings are also available with a rough-ground inner ring raceway. You can also order bearings without an innerring (RNU) or without an outer ring (RN).

Equivalent dynamic load
The following applies to a cylindrical roller bearing with radial load:
